Aircraft, Serviceable
The number of aircraft currently operational and in either revenue or corporate service. The aircraft applicable to this report are the Canadair CL600 utilizing the ALF502L engines, the AVRO International Aerospace BAe146 and RJ utilizing the ALF502R and the LF507 engines.

Operators, Number of
The number of customers currently operating aircraft with either a ALF502L, ALF502R or LF507 engine installed in there aircraft.

Cycles, Cumulative
As defined in the Engine Service Life Service Bulletin for each engine model. The grand total of all cycles accumulated for a given engine model.

Engine
The engine assembly plus its essential accessories as stated on the bill of material or lading as supplied by the engine manufacturer.

Engine Caused
Refers to events due to failure of components within the engine system and is the responsibility of the engine manufacturer.

Hours, Cumulative
A grand total of all hours accumulated for a given engine model. Hours accumulated at OEM�s are not included.

In-Flight Shutdown, Engine Caused Rate
A reliability figure calculated by dividing the number of engine caused in-flight shutdowns for a specified time period by the number of engine operating hours for the same time period and multiplying the resultant by 1,000. This rate express the number of in-flight shutdowns experienced for every 1,000 hours of engine operation.

Removal, Engine Caused Rate
A reliability figure calculated by dividing the number of engine caused engine removals for a specified time period by the number of engine operating hours for the same time period and multiplying the resultant by 1,000. This rate expresses the number of engine removals experienced for every 1,000 hours of engine operation.

Shop Visit Rate
A reliability figure calculated by dividing the number of shop visits for a specified time period by the number of engine operating hours for the same time period and multiplying the resultant by 1,000. This rate expresses the number of shop visits experienced for every 1,000 hours of engine operation.

Shop Visit
An engine removal, regardless of failure responsibility or maintenance category (scheduled or unscheduled), is classified as a shop visit whenever
the subsequent engine maintenance performed prior to reinstallation entails: a.) separation of pairs of major mating flanges, or b.) removal of a disk hub or spool.
